A visit to the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya in New Delhi has something for everyone and should be a place school students must visit. You not only learn about all the prime ministers of India, but also experience how we have evolved as a nation and how the PMs have worked hard to get to where we are today.
You start your tour learning about India's independence and there are some cool technology enabled interactive kioks that everyone enjoys a lot. You will spend fair amount of time as you walk the corridors and visit the rooms where Nehru ji lived and in fact breathed his last. The "Toshkhana" is also a great attraction as you see gifts our PMs have received from other countries over the years. My favourite though was reading handwritten letters including the famous "tryst with destiny" speech.
The multi-storey tour of next building is where you walk the history of rest of the PMs. This is one section that kids were enjoying a lot as they get to see old models of desktops, PCO, and more and also see information they find easy to relate to including pictures, medals, chess boards, guns of players like Gukesh, Manu and other champions.
One place that attracts most visitors and where many spend a lot of time is where they have displayed achievements of Modi ji and have incorporated lots of interactive booths. Keep some time at hand for this last section as there's a lot to see here.
There are few other paid virtual tours including VR pics with Modi ji. Overall the price is such that these are affordable while avoiding crowds and rush.
If you are coming over a weekend, there can be higher footfall so be ready for wait times. The campus has a limited parking area, for the museum you can buy tickets online or at the counter and as you complete the tour, there's a souvenir shop and a cafeteria (which ideally should have more seats).
